In December 2009, we were notified of our first annual membership dues in TimeBanks USA. This is a developmental marker; it means we are large enough to attract attention. New timebanks are given a grace period to build their membership. New timebanks pay for an introductory package of Get Started materials that include an informational DVD, handbooks, and a Community Weaver website for managing member accounts, offers and requests, and timebank transactions.

We coasted along for a long time on that introductory offer — two years. Then in 2009, we set up a Kitchen Cabinet, stepped up our recruiting efforts, and mushroomed to almost 150 members. Success brings responsibility so we recruited donations from members for our new membership dues of $175.Donations came flying in when A princely sum but Takoma was up to it. No problem. So we are off and running strongly in 2010.
