To Join TakomaTime

Joining TakomaTime is free and easy. All you have to do is sign up with our banking system, CommunityWeaver. To join:

  1. Click on the Join TakomaTime Link:To Join TakomaTime

    A new window will open and to the Community Weaver website.

  2. Scroll down the alphabetical listings to find TakomaTime with our logo of cherry blossoms and azaleas.
  3. Click on Join Now, fill in your name, email address, and password; accept the terms and conditions; and click “join” to send the form. A confirming email will arrive with a link to return to TakomaTime.
  4. When you click on the link in the email message to confirm that the address is yours, you will be taken to a page to fill in personal information. Some of this information is essential but much of it is entirely optional. When in doubt, leave it out. You can always add it later.
  5. Click “save” and you will be taken to your account page which has a series of tabs at the top that will help you find your way around the site.
  6. Click on “Give & Receive” to see a page of services requested and offered. You will see a long list of categories. These categories suggest ideas for offers and requests, but since we are a new time bank many of them are empty. Click on “All Offers” and “All Requests” at the top of the page to see what is offered or requested by TakomaTime members.
  7. If you would like to offer services use the tab on your account page to make an offer. To respond to an offer, click on it and using the form provided, send an email to the member offering the service. All contacts are made through TakomaTime and none of your personal information is revealed until you choose to reveal it.
You may place as many requests and offers as you like. When someone responds, you will receive an email from TakomaTime with a link to view the response. You are under no obligation to accept or give services unless it is convenient. You can continue to use the email forms on the website to discuss the offer or request until both of you determine that this exchange is a good match.
